Hello!

I’m Shelby, an artist and nonprofit professional based in Brooklyn, New York.

My greatest passion is using creative expression to ignite the spark that inspires connection, compassion, and movement—and using strategic insight to better understand our world and how to improve it.

Across everything I do, I strive to balance a macro sociological and analytical perspective with a close-up consideration and appreciation of the day-to-day. My work is grounded in the belief that there is immense richness in the ordinary—and that we have every reason to be a little extra about it.

In the creative world, I’m a photo embroiderer, illustrator, writer, and even a face painter! I’m drawn to tactile processes, storytelling, and the small details that invite us to slow down and look closer.

In the social sector, I’ve spent over a decade in nonprofit fundraising and development, with a focus on grant writing, prospect research, and systems strategy. I’ve led prospecting teams, built sustainable pipelines, and supported mission-driven organizations in securing transformative funding. I bring a thoughtful, process-minded approach to every project—whether I’m stitching a vintage photo or designing a major gift strategy.

It’s great to meet you!
